advertisingishard.com ("the site") is a hub for getting better at marketing, advertising and business, with a paid leaderboard, run by Dylan (@dylan_builds). By placing a bid you agree to these terms.
How bids work
You pay a whole-dollar amount via Stripe. Your listing's rank is determined by the total you have paid in the current season; higher totals rank higher, with ties going to the earlier payment. Paying again under the same URL or handle adds to your total.
Seasons and the Great Reset
The board clears every 90 days. When it resets, listings move to the All-time leaderboard and the current board starts empty. Your payment buys placement until the end of the current season only.
No refunds
Placement is delivered immediately on payment. We do not refund when you are outbid, when the season resets, or if you change your mind. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.
Your listing
You are responsible for the URL, handle and tagline you submit and confirm you have the right to promote them. No adult content, and nothing illegal, misleading, infringing or harmful. We may edit or remove any listing at our discretion, with or without notice, and without refund if it breaches these terms.
Accounts and the book club
Parts of the site (recommending books, voting and commenting in the Book Club) need you to sign in with X. We receive your X user id, handle, display name and profile picture, nothing else, and we never post on your behalf. Your recommendations, votes and comments are public and are shown with your X name and picture. You keep ownership of what you write and give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it on the site and in the newsletter. Be honest, be civil, no spam, no harassment, no content you do not have the right to post. We may hide or remove anything, and suspend sign-in for anyone, at our discretion. You can delete your own comments at any time and can ask us to remove your account data.
Strategy posts and credit
The Organic and Paid sections summarise marketing strategies that people shared publicly on Reddit and X. Each post is written in our own words, links to the original, and names the person who shared it. The results and numbers belong to them, not us, and are not a promise of what you will get. If you are credited and would like the post changed or removed, message us and we will sort it out quickly.
The skills library
Skills library guides are free and unlock when you subscribe to the newsletter. They are educational material, not professional advice; platforms change, so verify anything critical before spending money on it. The guides are ours; you may read and apply them, not republish them.
The ad library
The ad library shows screenshots of ads that brands have run publicly, for education and commentary. Each ad remains the property of its brand; inclusion is not endorsement, and we are not affiliated with the brands shown. If you own an ad shown here and want it corrected or removed, message @dylan_builds and we will act quickly. If you use an ad as a reference for your own work, including as input to AI tools, that use and its consequences are yours.
Clicks and stats
Click counts and visitor figures are provided as-is for interest and are not a guarantee of traffic or results.
Age
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live and to use Stripe (18 or older in most places).
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it.
