Questions people ask
How many characters can a Facebook ad have?
Meta recommends 125 characters of primary text, a 27 character headline and a 27 character description for feed placements. Longer primary text is allowed but gets folded behind a See more link, so the first 125 characters carry the message.
What is the Google Ads headline character limit?
Responsive search ad headlines are capped at 30 characters each and descriptions at 90. You can add up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and Google assembles combinations from them. Display path fields are 15 characters each.
Do emoji count as one character?
This counter counts Unicode code points, so most emoji count as one. Some platforms weight them differently: X counts many emoji and CJK characters as two, and TikTok rejects emoji in ad text outright. Treat the numbers here as the safe reading and check the platform preview before you publish.
Why do some placements show a recommended limit and a maximum?
Platforms often accept more text than they display. LinkedIn accepts 600 characters of intro text but truncates at about 150 in the feed, and Pinterest accepts a 100 character title but shows the first 40. The recommended figure is where the copy stops being visible without a click.
